Four seasons and three promotions into our Hampshire League career, Hook and Odiham RFC are enjoying playing competitive rugby in Hampshire 2 this year.
It’s definitely been a tough few weeks as the squad get used to playing at this new level but while we haven’t won yet on the pitch, we’ve run some tough competition close and are enjoying the challenge.
At the Christmas break we’re sitting 10th in the table with four teams below us and we’re looking forward to building from here when matches start again.
Socially it’s been a busy autumn too. We held our first ever Oktoberfest event at Andwell Brewery on 19 October complete with lederhosen and oompah band, which saw friends from across the community as well as club members enjoy a memorable evening.
More recently the club gathered at Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club on 7 December for our annual Christmas party, which as always was an excellent evening. As well as raising money for the club, we were able to share some good cheer with the residents of May Place Hostel in Basingstoke as we donated our surplus turkey dinners to them the next day.
If you’d like to get involved with the club in any capacity, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or come and talk to us at one of our home fixtures at Rotherwick Playing Fields. We hope to see you soon!
